Valve and EA are left with disappointment as the review panel, looking into the OFLC refusal to classify Left 4 Dead 2, has returned with a unanimous vote to keep it restricted from sale.
Developer Valve foresaw this turn of events and has already provided an edited version, which has been accepted by the OFLC and certified MA15+. Uncut, it couldn’t ”be accommodated”.
”In the review board’s opinion, Left 4 Dead 2 could not be accommodated within the MA 15+ classification,” they said, reports Edge. ”The computer game contains a level of violence which is high in impact, prolonged, repeated frequently and realistic within the context of the game.”
Sorry Aussie gamers, you’re government believes you’re ill fit to judge what is pretend and what is real-life. Perhaps if your Down Under society legalised mental maturity past the age of 15?
Left 4 Dead 2 will be released on Xbox 360 and PC November 17th in Australia, though heavily cut.
