Ninja Gaiden man Tomonobu Itagaki has teased his new project but says it’s too soon to be making announcements at E3, hints it won’t be a fighting game.
Itagaki-san says the Xbox 360 has ”a lot of potential” he’s yet to play with yet, and say’s it’d be ”more fun if we made something new, right?” His new studio has former Team NINJAs.
”…I do feel that the Xbox 360 still has a lot of potential that I haven’t been able to play with yet,” Tomonobu Itagaki tells 1UP.
Aside from joking that this new game would be called ‘Tokyo Vikings’, they’re not willing to spill anything on details yet. Itagaki-san seems unfazed by the whole swine-flu scare and is happy to be heading to E3.
”I would be surprised if the virus had the guts to get in my way,” he jokes. ”In terms of floating particles, I’m more annoyed by the dust that gets on my Digital SLR imager.”
”I feel it’s my duty to make the best game possible to deliver to my fans. So I don’t intend to stay out of the game for too long. To any of my fans reading this, if you see me at E3, feel free to say hi,” he adds. Are you an Itagaki acolyte?
