Currently Cryptic Studios are busying handling the wave upon wave of feedback notes from gamers in the closed beta for Champions Online.
That will change come mid-August with the open beta, and while no concrete date has been set, Cryptic have given the nod to a fansite. The game releases on PC this September 1st.
Champions Online is also still scheduled for a launch on Xbox 360 later this year. ”A firm date has been pencilled in and although it’s not 100 per cent confirmed, it is slap bang in the middle of August,” reported Champions Online Daily News.
Cryptic updated the official MMO site to include a link to the fansite article, meaning it’s unofficially official. ”Want a sneak peek at what’s going on as we race towards launch?” it teased.
Champions Online is thought of as the successor to ‘rival’ City of Heroes/Villains, which isn’t surprising when it was developed by Cryptic Studios for NCSoft.
