When Midway fell apart and was bought by Warner for $49m, they took over the rights too many old and new IPs. This Is Vegas ”coming soon”.
The URLs in question are career-criminal.com, gauntletds.com, gauntletthegame.com, and eclipse-vegas.com. Only the last site is actually active with the This Is Vegas logo present on it with the words ”Coming soon…” attached.
An open-world sandbox game, This Is Vegas was originally set to retail in holiday 2008 but was beset with delays. It takes a tongue-in-cheek look at Las Vegas as the player does everything they can to make it as un-family friendly, and full of sin as possible.
When Warner bought Midway Games they didn’t say anything about This Is Vegas getting a release, and in fact laid staff off at developer Surreal Software and two other Seattle-based studios now under their payroll. It seems Warner may gamble on it yet…
