Ninja Gaiden 3 project lead Yosuke Hayashi has spilled the beans about protagonist Ryu Hayabusa.
In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine - and reported by Games Thirst - the main man said that ”We are focusing Ryu as a dark Japanese hero. There won’t be new playable characters, but we’ll focus more deeply on Ryu Hyabusa’s life and lifestyle and feelings and thoughts.”
If you thought you’d played violent video games, just wait until you hear what Hayashi had to say about the upcoming hack and slasher.
”We are trying to take the violent concepts even deeper and make people realize how it feels to actually kill someone and what it is to actually gut someone. It’s very important to us that people realize that violence is not only about blood and gore.”
Hayashi also revealed that the game will come with a ”complex multiplayer mode”, and will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at the same time.
Earlier in the year, Hayashi said that ”Team Ninja’s aim with Ninja Gaiden 3 is twofold: to be the number one 3D action game of the time, and secondly, the main character is Ryu Hayabusa. They’re the two things we’re focusing on.”
