Valve has offered up the beta Authoring Tools for Portal 2 to fans, which means science-lovers can start creating their very own singleplayer and co-op maps.
It also lets you mess around with skins, models, sound effects and music for the game. These tools are similar to what the Valve team used to build the game.
The Authoring Tools feature an updated iteration of the Source engine editor Hammer, a newer version of Faceposer and an updated suite of command-line helpers. Portal 2 has taken the Valve and gaming community at large by storm earning many accolades.
Free downloadable content is due for Portal 2 this summer.
