While the success of Rebellion’s AvP was high enough that ”naturally you would think” a sequel was a sure thing, SEGA ”already had” Aliens: Colonial Marines.
The studio behind the game has already said they were in talks for a sequel to AvP, but SEGA are keen to keep the franchise from bleeding out into too many titles.
It ”was so successful that naturally you would think you want to do a sequel,” Hayes reasoned. ”But we already had Aliens: Colonial Marines in the pipeline at Gearbox.”
”The Aliens universe is so interesting that there are different things that we can do before we go back to an idea of sequelisation,” he added. ”There’s a lot more we can do first before we would consider doing a sequel on AVP.”
Rebellion’s Aliens vs. Predator was in fact a reboot of the original 1999 released game from the same studio. It’s split across three campaigns which has us play as a colonial marine, a xenomorph and a predator. Do you want a Rebellion sequel to AvP?
