Infinity Ward has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, much like its predecessors since Call of Duty 2, runs at a solid 60 frames per second on console.
This will undoubtedly please fans of the series that have gotten used to that extra comfort of smooth running and gunning. It’s a ”core design principle” for Infinity.
”Absolutely, locked at 60 Frames Per Second. That is a core design principle for us and especially for #MW3,” twittered creative strategist Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward. He also revealed the full site for MW3 will launch ”in time with the NBA reveal in the US.”
Most other shooters sit around the 30 FPS benchmark but Call of Duty has strictly adopted 60 FPS, giving it an extra edge over the competition among first-person shooter fans. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC November 8th.
