Algol, the final boss in Soul Calibur IV, will be playable character in Soul Calibur V. He will be dubbed “the Hero of Ancient Times,” according to a report from Famitsu. The wizened Edge Master will also be a playable character as well.
Famitsu also revealed that there will be two new game modes, including a Quick Match mode for fast fights, and a Legendary Souls mode which is basically the Soul Calibur equivalent of a Horde mode, in which the player faces boss after boss at a high difficulty level.
Soul Calibur V will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on the 31st January.
