Kinetic Games has confirmed that Voice Recognition will be fully implemented for the console versions of Phasmophobia. PlayStation 5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X/S players will all be able to use it starting February 20th.
The Voice Recognition feature has been missing from console versions since it launched on October 29th. Kinetic Games couldn’t get it working for the launch, so the team put together prompts that allow you to talk with ghosts while you use the spirit box.
“It’s just more difficult due to the hardware restrictions, as we primarily use Windows as our PC recognition system,” said Phasmophobia community manager Cjdxn4 back in October.
In the console versions, the spirit box requires text input so the ghost can interact with and respond to players. Today’s update will allow you to interact with the ghost using a spirit box by talking to it through your headset.
“Voice Recognition comes to PlayStation 5, PS VR2 & Xbox Series X/S as part of an update to Phasmophobia tomorrow, February 20th 2025.” said Kinetic Games in a post on Bluesky.
Now, you can finally ask Walter White how old he is.
