Director Guillermo del Toro’s promising horror videogame Insane has been dropped by THQ, the troubled publisher has officially confirmed.
The survival horror game was announced two years ago by THQ and del Toro as the first game of a trilogy. del Toro described the game as ”Lovecraftian, it’s really weird, but it’s Lovecraftian in a very sick way, which I like. It’s truly, truly entertaining. Full of action, but also a very shocking game. And Guy Davis and Francisco. Guy Davis, to me, is one of the best monster designers alive right now.”
While the game is no longer being developed by THQ, there remains the chance that another company will pick up development of the game, much like Square-Enix picked up True Crime: Hong Kong (and renamed it Sleeping Dogs).
Stay tuned.
