Wargaming.net has announced World of Tanks Generals, a browser-based MMO real-time strategy game incorporating collectible card gameplay.
World of Tanks Generals will be set during World War II, as players will take on the roles of the US, the U.S.S.R., France or Germany. They will have access to tanks, artillery and infantry as they research new technology to buy new tanks and units for more varied gameplay options. Both solo and multiplayer gameplay will allow players to take part in battles taken from historical events while fighting for dominance on a global map.
“The Wargaming universe is evolving onto new platforms,” Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi stated in the press release, ”World Of Tanks Generals will merge the worlds of tabletop and video games, featuring solid mechanics, strategic thinking and tactical twists in a fun, approachable way. It will feature the same great multiplayer tank warfare that Wargaming fans have come to love, just from an entirely new perspective.”
In a bit of crossplatform promotion, World of Tanks Generals will also be available as a card-based strategy board game.
