Bohemia Interactive has announced that Carrier Command: Gaea Mission will be landing on PC and Xbox 360 on the 27th September this year. The game is a first- and third-person shooter with some real-time strategy elements added.
The Windows and Xbox 360 versions are coming out before the PlayStation 3 version for the simple reason that the former utilize the same basic architecture, DirectX. The content in both versions will be the same.
According to Bohemia CEO Marek Spanel, ”I and my brother Ondrej were addicted to playing Carrier Command on our Atari ST. In fact, it was what inspired us to develop games ourselves. Now, almost 25 years after the original was released, it’s exciting to see our re-imagination, Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, finding its way to the massively expanded PC and immense console gaming audience.”
Bohemia is also inviting players to engage in the the Carrier Command: Gaea Mission Play & Contribute Beta, which they can register for here.
