Splash Damage CEO Paul Wedgwood has been talking about the companies plans for 2012, and reveals that the studio will soon announce new “titles - both on platforms we’ve previously visited (including the PC and the world’s leading consoles), as well as exploring spaces completely new to us.”
Splash Damage are a UK studio known for developing Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and more recently Brink. The firm was originally a Quake 3 mod team, but formed into a professional developer in 2001. Since this change the studio has been going from strength to strength with each passing release, and Wedgwood feels confident that 2012 is going to be no different.
“2012 is going to be a very special year for Splash Damage. In fact, it’s going to be the most significant year in our history.” said Wedgwood. “We’ve learned a lot from each of our games, and especially learned from the mistakes that we’ve made too.”
Splash Damage are looking at the “enormous changes” seen in the gaming industry during the past decade, and that it will try to create games tailored towards those changes.
“We’ve got some special things planned to take full advantage of the changes our industry is experiencing. This is a hugely exciting time for everyone here at the studio and we can’t wait to tell you about all the cool things we’ve got in store for you this year.” he said.
