Ubisoft has announced that gamers can engage in the open beta test for the new Anno 2070 “Domination” multiplayer mode, in which two teams of up to 5 members each fight for the highest score.
Players score points by solving single player missions that ramp up in difficulty over time; these missions can be finished solo or co-op. The team with the highest cumulative score unlock missions with different tasks.
If that weren’t enough, Domination plays asynchronously, which means that players don’t have to be online at the same time. Player progress is automatically uploaded to the server as soon as the player solves a mission successfully. This allows players to save a mission and return to it hours later, while teammates can access the player’s saved game.
In order to try out the Domination mode, players must have updated their copy of Anno 2070 to the 1.05 version. Ubisoft also released a FAQ which can be read here.
