Sony has announced that the standalone, free-to-play Killzone 3 multiplayer mode will launch on the PlayStation store tomorrow, the 29th February. The multiplayer will include the Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations game modes, as well as the on-disc maps and DLC maps.
The game is free until the player reaches the rank of Sergeant, at which the player will be required to pay £11.99 to continue beyond that point, earning the four exclusive trophies in the process. Paying also grants a 24-hour double XP bonus, three free unlock points, the ability to set up clans and custom games, and access to the Botzone mode.
Players who already own Killzone 3 or paid for the full version of the multiplayer mode can engage in
the Double XP Weekend starting on the Friday, 2nd March and ending on Monday, 5th March at 10:00 GMT. Players who only have the free version of the multiplayer mode are excluded.
