Firefly Studios announced today that it’s developing Stronghold: Crusader II, which is set to march across digital battlefields in late 2013 for the PC.
Crusader 2 will take the world of fast paced skirmish play to new heights, with new troops, new traps, new castle buildings and a host of new AI opponents. Featuring a tightly reworked interface for better battle control, environmental effects and threats, real-time physics and a range of gameplay enhancements, Crusader 2 promises to offer the same addictive gameplay that made the original popular among RTS fans.
”Stronghold Crusader is our favorite game, it’s our fans’ favorite game and it’s the game we have been waiting to put into production for several long years now. Now Firefly Studios finally has that chance and we will not disappoint,” said Simon Bradbury, CEO of Firefly Studios and Designer of Stronghold Crusader 2.
The developer hopes to fund the game via Gambitious, a new crowd funding platform made specifically for the games industry. Firefly hasn’t started the funding process yet, but hopes to have a profile made sometime in September.
We’ll keep you posted.
