In Retribution we play as Jake Conway, freshly returned from Vietnam, who goes on a bloody revenge streak to take down a rival biker hand who brutally murdered his younger brother.
It’s set during the ”outlaw era of America’s Sixties” and isn’t shy on the brawls. The DLC has us fighting through an abandoned base to stop an atomic bomb from being set off.
”It’s a little cheesy,” creative director Guido Eickmeyer told Polygon. ”There are some sensitive topics around this title.”
”It’s not something that everybody will like, definitely not. We’re going to have people who even hate it. But we know we’re going to have a lot of fans as well, a lot of people will love it, a lot of people will laugh. It’s going to be an exciting thing.”
The new franchise will release with a trio of titles. Ride to Hell: Retribution releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC June 25th, while Ride to Hell: Route 666 releases on XBLA, PS3 and PC also this June with Ride to Hell: Beatdown for mobile devices. Route 666 is more arcade-style action as we lead a biker gang across the US.
Ride to Hell: Retribution is pre-purchasable via Steam right now.
