Since 2007 a movie adaptation of IO Interactive’s game has been in the works. Nothing has been heard of the Kane & Lynch franchise since 2010’s Dog Days with a Metacritic in the low 60s.
Developer IO went on to produce 2012’s Hitman: Absolution and its spin-off Hitman: Sniper Challenge, and are now working on the next Hitman due in 2015.
Does 300 star Gerard Butler have that death row inmate vibe about him to play Kane? Can Vin Diesel play a psychotic popping pills? Originally Bruce Willis was said to be attached but obviously that fell through. In 2010 the project lost its director scuppering plans further. IO Interactive lost half their staff with Kane & Lynch 3 canned.
