Gamers are reporting that when they activate the expansion through Steam with their key, Uplay won’t accept the key because it’s “already been redeemed”. The players are then stuck without the main Heroes VI campaign, only able to play the expansion campaigns.
Ubisoft has been on top of the issue, however, and has given instructions in their forum, advising gamers download the 2.1 beta patch that the publisher states will fix the issue. They also advise “if you have Heroes 6 game installed on your PC and you have received earlier a key for Heroes 6: Shades of Darkness or the Complete Edition, please launch the game and redeem the key from the main menu” and ”if you don’t have Heroes 6 game installed on your PC: please connect to Uplay or Steam (depending on the chosen store) and redeem your key.”
This has not prevented gamers from launching petitions to protest Uplay.
