Obsidian worked on one Star Wars-licensed game, the potentially brilliant Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, which was forced out the door by the now-defunct LucasArts unfinished. Now that Electronic Arts holds the license exclusively, the studio would love to do another Star Wars game.
The developer does have an ambitious Star Wars RPG planned, but according to CEO Feargus Urquhart, the developer wasn’t going to propose it til things were settled with the license. When Disney acquired the license, ”we didn’t end up talking with them directly, since we were waiting to see what might happen with the license as a whole.”
However, now that the license is firmly in EA’s hands, “We are certainly going to try,” Urquhart promised, “We would love to work on another Star Wars game, and if it was possible for us to hook up with BioWare and EA to do so, that would be pretty amazing.”
Stay tuned.
