The studio warns the game is ”still very much in its early stages,” but that it’s set in an online universe. They talk of a long-term development with ”playable phases” to be rolled out eventually.
While it doesn’t sound like the Imperium Galactica of old, it’s interesing to see what exactly Digital Reality has planned and what they mean exactly by taking in online.
”Imperium Galactica: Stargazer is a technological demo presenting the workings of our new Stargazer engine’s capabilities of real-time generating unique planets. It is the first step on a road for us that we have been thinking about for some time now. We are currently working on a new Imperium Galactica game , which will use this engine.”
”This new game is still very much in its early stages, but what we can tell you about it is, that it will be an online game set in the world of the Imperium Galactica universe. This will involve a long term development to be published in many, playable phases. We will strive to update the site and the game frequently by adding in more and more of the game we envisioned.”
Accompanying the announcement of a new Imperium Galactica the studio has also released an ”interactive teaser” of the Stargazer engine, which lets us try out real-time planet generation. Check out the official website to download it.
