Indie developer Roxlou’s hybrid strategy-roleplaying-adventure game Unwritten: That Which Happened managed to just make its $75,000 Kickstarter funding goal, raising $78,017.
Unwritten features a tribal art direction, as the player guides “successive generations of a nomadic clan, passing stories and legends down through the ages” as they travel through ”randomly generated maps, units, abilities, and enemies”. The game places an emphasis on players writing their own personal story. In addition, players can even create their own game modules ”using the same tools the developer used to make the game.”
