The last entry was Alice: Madness Returns in 2011 which didn’t perform well commercially. Earlier this year McGee remarked EA has ‘mis-marketed’ the game, before shortly retracting his comments.
The premise behind American McGee’s Alice is that, if Wonderland exists solely within Alice’s mind, what happens to it when she goes mad? A delightful romp ensues!
Here’s what American McGee posted on his Facebook:
Alice Fans,
Questions for you:
1) If we could get the rights from EA, would you play “Alice 3?”
2) If you’d play “Alice 3,” would you back it on Kickstarter?
3) If you said “yes” to those two things, make some noise - I’m trying to gauge interest in case I happen to discuss this with EA during GDC in 2 weeks. The more interest there is, the more seriously they’ll take the conversation.
Spicy Horse is McGee’s studio and it has recently launched a free-to-play action-RPG by the name of Akaneiro: Demon Hunters after it was successfully funded through Kickstarter. It blends Japanese culture and Red Riding Hood.
