343 Industries has announced on Halo Waypoint that the Windows 8-based twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Assault will be released today, the 18th July.
The game is set between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4, revolving around a ”new war with the Covenant, the first missions of the Spartan Ops program and the rise of Commander Sarah Palmer.” The game also features Live Achivements. Players can also earn experience points to unlock emblems for their Halo 4 Spartan career.
