The original Panzer General games were considered some of the more enjoyable and accessible real-time strategy games in the genre in the mid-90’s, and now Ubisoft has resurrected the license with a free-to-play, browser-based game, Panzer General Online.
The game will use a miniatures theme, as players can collect cards that will award them virtual miniatures of tanks, infantry and artillery to create their own personalized army and place in the field. Panzer General Online also features an advanced tutorial, and both single-player and multiplayer modes.
The single player campaign includes such famous battles as Omaha Beach and Monte Cassino, and multiplayer mode will allow players to pit their miniatures against others.
Panzer General Online will be going into closed beta later this year; gamers can register here.
