Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance coming to PC? Fans were chuffed to bits. It’s limited to a 1080p resolution? Chuffed not so much. JP Kellams from Platinum Games implores PC gamers to champion their screens.
The creative producer wants to pass the message along to Konami bigwigs that the ”more extreme resolutions” … ”aren’t so extreme.” He’s been setting up visits to Valve for Japanese devs.
He really wants to push the PC in Japan and hopes studios over there will see ”how vibrant PCs can be.” Kellams went on to call the PC the ”most democratic platform on Earth.”
”Truth is we paid attention to steam surveys, etc. and worked to make a PC version everyone could enjoy. If we don’t support some of the more extreme resolutions/options, feel free to tweet me. I will be sure to let people know that maybe they aren’t so extreme,” tweeted JP Kellams in response to the limited 1080p for MGR: Revengeance.
”One last thing. I love the PC games market. We have lots to learn about it,” he added. “I’m the one who set up our visits to Valve, and I hope I can keep working to show Japanese devs how vibrant PCs can be.”
“Obviously, publishers make platform choices, but I really want to create a passion for PC gaming in Japan.”
He kept up the desktop fandom: ”PC is a platform where Japanese games can thrive with your support. :) which is why I promise to be your voice as much as I can.”
“Lots of countries don’t have consoles. Or have crazy taxes (Brazil). But even with insane firewalls, PCs are almost a human right. The PC is the most democratic platform on Earth. Anyone can have one. Even with piracy, it is amazing. Which is why I love MGR PC,” added Kellams.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is now available for pre-purchase on Steam and releases January 9th.
