Next-gen games won't carry over current-gen saves

While multiplayer status and perks can be carried over from the current-gen version of a game to the next-gen, the same won’t be true of single player campaign saves. Gamers will have to start their campaigns over again.

According to the publishers, gamers who start their single player campaigns on games like Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts won’t be able to carry over their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 campaign saves to the Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

However, those game games will carry over progress in the multiplayer portion of the game, so players won’t lose their prestige levels and perks. Even EA Sports titles, while not carrying over career mode saves, will carry the Ultimate Team cards to the next gen.

GameStop, Amazon and Sony will be offering $10 trade-ins for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of current-gen games.
