The latest continent for PlanetSide 2 is Hossin, which is swampy, and it will feature on the public test server very soon. The next land mass is the desert continent of Oshur, followed by the volcanic Searhas.
Amerish, Esamir, and Indar are the current continental battle zones for PlanetSide 2’s three factions. Does more land stretch players too thin for grand battles? Hopefully not.
Like most MMOs, Sony must be careful in adding new land to conquer as otherwise the huge battles taking place will start to suffer from a lack of recruits to hurl into combat.
”For those of you not lucky enough to check out Hossin at SOE Live this week, Hossin will be released on Public Test this week as well!” tweeted SOE’s creative director Matthew Higby. Until now only some teasing concept artworks of Hossin have been released. It’s a swampy environment likely encouraging vehicles to get around efficiently.
Sony has already made adjustments to the MMOs approach to hotspots where players are ‘funnelled’ to help keep everyone together more and therefore the battles as intense as possible.
