Here’s a chance to try out Defence Grid 2, the sequel to the popular 2008 tower defence game for free; developer Hidden Path Entertainment has released a free demo showcasing the first chapter of the game.
If you like what you see you’ll be able to grab the full game for a 50% discount until tomorrow, as part of Steam’s Autumn Exploration Sale.
What to expect? Well, lots more murdering intelligent alien lifeforms by placing strategic combat towers in the right position. The sequel comes with a fancy new graphics engine, a few new game modes, and online multiplayer and co-op. It’s also very, very colourful. So there’s that.
Tower defence is tower defence, yes, but the Defence Grid franchise does it better than most. You get to sample a full chapter, too, which is not too shabby for a free demo.
