Time to polish your rifle and grab your gas mask, Ageod has announced that its World War One grand strategy title To End All Wars is coming out this August 26.
Currently in beta, the game puts you in charge of either Axis or Allied commanders during the Great War. Thankfully your options are slightly more varied than drinking fine Scotch, smoking expensive cigars and telling thousands of hapless infantrymen to run across no man’s land every Thursday.
To End All Wars is built on the latest version of Ageod’s AGE engine, with which they’ve powered their impressive roster of grand strategy games from various eras in world history, titles such as Civil War 2 and Hannibal: Terror of Rome. This time it’s been configured to deal with the vagaries of WWI combat; trench warfare, artillery bombardments, aerial warfare and so on.
As well as regular historical events that crop up for you to deal with, the game has an ”innovative card system”, which lets you deploy various game-changing strategies; spies, surprise attacks, key trench warfare aspects, technological breakthroughs and more. Sounds like you’ll have plenty of options, so try not to get everybody killed.
If you’re a fan of grand strategy games with an interest in World War One, it might be worth keeping this one on your radar. When August 26 comes around you’ll be able to pick To End All Wars up from the Ageod store.
