CD Projekt Red has announced the launch of a closed beta for board game tie-in The Witcher Adventure Game.
Those who recently pre-ordered fantasy threequel The Witcher 3 will get two keys, one for themselves and one for a friend, while others can hop on over to the GOG Galaxy site to sign up for the beta and hope to get chosen to take part.
“The moment you give people a chance to play a game so dear to you is always exciting,” says Rafał Jaki, executive producer on The Witcher Adventure Game. “The closed beta is here! Give us your feedback and, most importantly, have fun playing!”
The Witcher Adventure Game is a virtual board game that lets you play as one of four characters from the main game; sorceress Triss, Geralt the Witcher, Dandelion the bard or Zigrin the dwarf. Just like in a real-life board game you’ll move your characters across the board, drawing quest cards, rolling dice and choosing which way to proceed.
While CD Projekt Red are dedicated to making sure all their games are playable offline, the closed beta will only feature the game’s online multiplayer component. The developers assure players that there will be a full suite of singleplayer options upon release.
