Sadly he ”cannot make a formal announcement” but it’s ”definitely something” he wants to happen. 2013’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance did come to PC eventually…
Whether Konami will look at Revengeance as model for moving forward is unknown, because we’d at least appreciate a PC version some time instead of never.
”PC, that’s my original background. I originally created PC games,” Hideo Kojima told Gamespot. ”A long time ago I didn’t want to rely on platforms to release games, so if people want it, I cannot make a formal announcement, but that is definitely something that I would like to do.” Metal Gear Solid 5 is still a long way off.
Before the next major instalment arrives Konami will be releasing prologue Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which launches March 18th. Perhaps they could experiment with the prologue on PC first? It’s worth a shot. Keifer Sutherland is voicing Solid Snake in the new Metal Gear, and not series veteran David Hayter.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4 in the future.
