Those legionnaires are pretty competent and all, but it’s a bit boring going around conquering Gaul with just one unit, isn’t it? Well, developer Longbow Games agrees, and it’s just released a new Mercenaries DLC pack for Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar.
Cough up $4.99 and you can hop over to your faction’s Mercenary Outpost building to recruit six new troops from across Europe.
Those new options are: Garamante spearmen, Dacian swordsmen, Sarmation lancers, Thracian peltasts, Iberian swordsmen and Suione raiding ships. Covering all your unit type needs. These new units are paid for with gold rather than resources, which is useful if you’re running out of raw goods but need to add some firepower to your armies.
This paid DLC follows the free Bannerman pack, which also added several new units to the game, including the ”Roman Aquilifer and the Gallic Hornblower”. Because every game should have a Gallic Hornblower.
