It’s a turn-based 4X with full tactical control of our ships, such as boarding others and using planetary or orbital defences. Battles can rage across many turns.
You can play the more classic 4X campaign or choose the open-ended missions provided alongside a storyline playing out across the galaxy. Research is a major challenge with over 80 technologies to discover and upgrade levels to manage. Colonies also have levels with a detailed economy.
