Kalypso Media has released a live action trailer (with a cameo from porn star Ron Jeremy no less) announcing Crookz, a new heist strategy title set in the 1970’s.
According to Blues News the game will have a ”slick and groovy atmosphere”, which sounds very Austin Powers, and lets you plan heists and robberies with a custom team of thieves.
Your team will consist of a bunch of different classes, each with their own unique skills; for instance the ‘bruiser’ is good for punching people into unconsciousness, while the lock-picker…. well, you can make an educated guess. Here’s the full list of reported features:
Diverse and thrilling Single player campaign
-
20 missions set in a colorful and stylish 70’s setting
-
Customize your gang of thieves with a variety of playable characters. The powerful bruiser makes a good hatchet man, while the lock-picker is responsible for the finishing touches.
-
Kit out your team with all manner of elaborate tools: like camera jammers, chloroform or explosive charges
-
Challenge Mode: Create and share challenges with other players
-
Unique gameplay mixes quick-thinking with in-depth strategy
Sounds interesting to me, I kind of love the heist movie concept and the 70’s setting. Crookz is set for a 2015 release on PC, Mac and Linux. I wonder if we’ll see more at Gamescom next week?
