Sure you can play dress up with your burbling, simpleton minions in The Sims 4, but wouldn’t you rather do so with the world’s most famous consulting detective?
Here’s the latest trailer for Frogwares’ upcoming Crimes and Punishments: Sherlock Holmes, which sees Mr. Holmes knock up the worst (best) disguise I have ever seen in order to interrogate a suspect.
I saw the game in action earlier this year, but I never got to check out Sherlock’s various disguises in action. They look brilliant. Completely ridiculous, obviously, but then creator Arthur Conan Doyle always loved sending his detective hero undercover dressed as a ragamuffin street kid or a wizened old man - the original stories were often pretty silly.
Frogwares seem to have taken that on board and embraced the source material’s goofier aspects. As this little clip shows, there’s more to the game than striding around crime scenes pondering things. Sometimes you just have to don a fake mustache and arm wrestle a sailor.
Crimes and Punishments is out September 30 on PC and consoles.
