The recently released PC version of Metal Gear: Revengeance is having offline issues, leaving players unable to run the game without an active connection.
Despite no warnings from Steam or the developer that the game requires an internet connection to play, users are reporting that the game shuts down without it, even when already loaded up.
A forum poster on NeoGAF suggested that the problem lies with Steam’s API. Modifying the game’s file apparently allows offline play.
Konami have responded with a tweet assuring players that they are working on the issue, which suggests that it was a genuine error rather than a sneaky attempt to add in DRM under the radar.
We are aware of the offline play issue for Metal Gear Rising for Steam and are working on a fix. Please stay tuned for more updates!
