A HD update for the turn-based Heroes of Might & Magic III will be releasing early next year, announces Ubisoft. The HD Edition includes support for wide screen and a new Steam multiplayer lobby.
Developer DotEmu has kept it ”faithful” to the original game, with seven campaign scenarios, 48 skirmish maps, local multiplayer and a map editor for the PC version.
This new HD version is also set to arrive on tablets alongside the PC re-release.
”Community is at the core of the Might & Magic series, and we wanted to thank their everlasting support by bringing back the epic tale of Queen Catherine Ironfist,” said Erwan le Breton, Might & Magic creative director. ”We wanted to keep the heart of what made Heroes III one of the most renowned titles of the series while providing an enhanced visual experience and offering the possibility to also play the game on tablets.”
Heroes of Might & Magic III is 15 years old, with the series having reached its 20th anniversary.
