Relic is coming along to the Gamescom party, and the developer is promising to talk about ”a few cool new things” they’ve got in the works.
Specifically it’s the Company of Heroes team that will be attending. Might we be about to see another expansion pack in the same vein as Western Front Armies?
Relic has already highlighted the change in structure for its flagship WWII franchise. Rather than traditional expansions they’re focusing on releasing more content like Western Front Armies, standalone products that slot neatly in with core Company of Heroes 2. The idea is that players will be able to pick whatever army faction appeals to them, and enjoy the full multiplayer experience without needing to purchase the entire range of products. Relic has confirmed that they will be adding more factions to the COH2 roster in the near future, so that might be what we’ll see announced at Gamescom.
You can check out whatever Relic’s planning via two livestreams on the company’s Twitch channel; the first stream is this Wednesday 13 at 4.20pm CET, followed by another at 3pm CET on Friday 15.
