Garry’s Mod has sold over 6 million copies on PC, Mac and Linux. That’s a lot of G-Men who’ve been twisted into unnatural positions and then blown up with a pile of explosive barrels.
Creator and founder of Facepunch Studios Garry Newman tweeted the initial figure, and then split it by platform, with the PC unsurprisingly miles ahead in units sold.
Garry's Mod sold its 6,000,000th copy last night :-)

Out of 6,009,970 total sales Mac units amounted to 336,765 and Linux 28,322 units. Which is ever so slightly misleading, because the Mac and Linux versions came out a long while after the PC. Still, even accounting for the time discrepancy, you’d imagine the PC would still lead the way with numbers like those.
Surprisingly enough, for a mod that seems to have been around forever, 3 million of those sales were from the last year. Garry’s Mod continues to be an amazing success for such a simple idea. Something to aspire to for all the other amateur modders out there.
