Valve is once again adding six new community chosen maps to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This time the event’s known as Operation Vanguard, and its the fifth major celebration of the game’s hard-working modding community.
As well as the new maps, players can earn new community weapon skins, and take part in the ‘Operation Campaigns’ system to earn rewards and a place on the leaderboards.
Campaigns are comprised of a series of missions, or challenges. “Completing a mission results in a Vanguard case drop, or a random drop from an existing weapon collection. Complete a sequence of missions within a Campaign to earn Challenge Stars and upgrade your Operation Vanguard Challenge Coin.,” explains Valve.
Coins will allow you to unlock a bunch of unique yet rather gaudy weapon skins from the minds of the CS player-base. Counter-Strike undoubtedly has the most fashionable guns in video games. Arms Race mode has also been updated with new maps and rules, which you can read up on here.
