MuzzyLane Software has announced that it is extending the Early Access programme for its World War One grand strategy title Making History: The Great War to September.
The game was originally intended to come out on July 28, but the developers say they need a little extra time to finish tweaking and bug-squashing. Which is fair enough. This means you can still grab the game for the discounted Early Access price until the new planned release date of September 9.
”We’ve been pushing very hard to meet the July 28th date for release,” says Muzzy Lane CEO Dave McCool, “But we also have committed ourselves from the start to not release the game unless we feel it’s ready to go. We feel TGW will benefit greatly from these additional weeks of polish and balancing, which are critical to getting the best player experience from a strategy title such as this.”
The developers do promise consistent updates throughout the extended beta period, so if you already own The Great War you’ll be up to date with the latest fixes. Seems to make sense to me, might as well make sure you’ve got your game as polished as possible before you say it’s finished.
“Our community wants the same thing we do,” continues McCool, “The best possible WWI strategy game. We believe this is the bestchoice we can make to be certain that happens.”
Making History: The Great War is currently available for the Early Access discounted price of $29.99 through Steam and MuzzyLane’s website, but when September 9 comes around that price will increase to $39.99.
