The closure of GameSpy meant that original Borderlands Vault Hunters could no longer play co-op together, but developer Gearbox Software has just now released a new multiplayer update.
Steamworks now powers the online chaos on Pandora. The studio would also like to remind fans that their physical DVD versions can be activated on Steam.
Naturally if you want this latest update and the ability to play co-op once more you’ll need to use Steam anyway. A special ‘Borderlands Granting Tool’ is available. For more information about transferring a DVD Borderlands to your Steam Library, check out this support page.
Soon the new Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
