Double Damage Games is a new development studio that was created shortly after the co-founders of Runic Games, Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer, departed in April of 2014.
Today they’re excited to reveal their debut title Rebel Galaxy, which is an action, adventure space opera where you take command of a star cruiser to explore a randomly generated galaxy full of ”mystery and danger”.
”Since the announcement of our studio we’ve been hard at work building Rebel Galaxy, and we’re excited to finally unveil it,” said Travis Baldree, Co-Founder of Double Damage Games. ”This has been a game we’ve wanted to make for a long time, and we look forward to sharing more details with players as development continues.”
In Rebel Galaxy you’ll battle pirates, explore anomalies, befriend aliens, scavenge battle wreckage, mine asteroids, and discover artifacts. You can play as a roguish do-gooder, crafty space-trader or power-hungry privateer. There will be plenty of ships for you to command, so you’ll want to earn credits to buy larger more powerful ones, outfitting them with a variety of weapons and defences.
