Halo: Spartan Strike, a sequel to last year’s twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Assault, has been announced for Windows 8 devices and PC by Microsoft.
As before, you’ll battle a horde of familiar enemies from the Halo universe in a top-down, twin-stick mode. This time around you’ll also get new vehicles and abilities, and 30 new missions to complete.
Apparently the game’s set during the events of Halo 2, though developer Vanguard Games has revealed that Halo 4’s Promethean enemies will also make an appearance. In terms of new vehicles, you can expect the Warthog all-terrain vehicle and the Kestrel VTOL, a sort of equivalent to the Covenant’s Spectre jetbike thing. Previous vehicles will also return, with ”improved controls” according to Vanguard.
Halo: Spartan Strike is coming to Steam and Windows devices this December 12. It will set you back $5.99, and comes with Steam achievements.
