Steampunk colony management game Clockwork Empires is now available on Steam Early Access, and judging by the accompanying launch trailer the game’s offbeat sense of humour remains intact.
Here’s some key advice for keeping your civilians well-fed while minimising potential illness; ”Boil ‘til it’s grey, and the germs go away.” A sound policy that we British have employed for several hundred years.
In Clockwork Empire you play as a junior bureaucrat from the steampunk corporation of Imperial Industry & Commerce, who’s attempting to keep a village full of colonial workers nice and productive. To do so you’ll have to ensure they’re well-fed, sheltered, and that they don’t have their minds devoured by various Cosmic Horrors.
It’s a good old-fashioned management sim with an added shot of dark humour and Lovecraftian monsters. Looks promising. Find out more on the official website and the game’s Steam page, where you can pick it up for $29.99.
