Night Node has released the first major patch for its multiplayer shooter Orbital Gear, adding a new single player mode with timed challenges.
It’s kind of a training mode for the game’s fast-paced online battles, with four levels for each of the game’s twelve weapons in which the player must destroy a horde of aggressive drones.
”We wanted to give players an option of learning the manoeuvrability of Orbital Gear as well as the option to try all of the different weapons, but in a really challenging way,” says lead designer Rasmus Bergström.
In total you’ve got 48 new challenges to run through in the shortest time you can manage; you’ll need to beat four to unlock the next weapon tier. You can compete against friends or strangers in new local and global leaderboards.
There’s a few other bits and pieces in the new patch too, mostly weapon balancing and bug fixes. Check out the full patch notes here.
