DotA 2’s new Rekindling Soul update not only adds a fire-themed makeover for ranged hero Shadow Fiend, but also makes a few changes to the map.
Oh, and there’s also the usual raft of tweaks, buffs, nerfs, reworks and extended tinkering with each hero’s stats and powers.
Shadow Fiend can now wear a fetching Arcana Set called Demon Eater, which sets him on fire and gives him new animations, voice samples, spell effects and more. Buying the new set by October 31 earns you an Exalted-quality item. There’s also new sets for Mirana, Naga Siren, Magnus and more, but those haven’t been detailed just yet.
In news that will have every veteran DotA 2 player grumbling, Valve has also been messing around with the game’s map. ”Along with an assortment of other changes, it’s moving day for Roshan (the game’s most fearsome monster),” the team explains. “Though don’t worry, he hasn’t gone far. His pit now looks out upon the river from a different angle, and nearby paths have been rerouted around his legendary den.”
Other additions include: new Crimson Guard armour, spawning Bounty Runes that improve gold earning and ability accumulation, a reworked Bloodseeker and Phantom Lancer, and a new ‘Fight Recap’ feature which allows you to check out in-depth stats from your recent battles.
There’s a bunch of other changes to discover, so if you’re a DotA player I’d advise hopping over to the update page to check out the full list.
