As if there were not enough guns to mess around with in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare already, players will soon get their hands on the AE4 assault rifle, due to be added in the game’s first DLC pack next year.
Sledgehammer Games revealed the directed energy weapon in a blog post, and revealed the title of the upcoming expansion - Havoc.
In addition to the main version of the AE4, there’s a rather gaudy custom variant called the ‘Widowmaker’, above right, that will presumably need to be unlocked via Advanced Warfare weapon crate loot system
Xbox Season Pass holders will get to play with the gun early, on December 11, but I’m afraid as usual PS4 and PC owners get the brown end of the stick. Still, it shouldn’t be too long before Havoc drops. We’ll keep an eye out for a more concrete date, but at the moment Sledgehammer will only say “early next year.”
